We at Vinum 55 are proud to announce the sixth volume of our Wines of the World Program, and the first program at our Phoenix location.
How it Works:
Each month, our Sommeliers select one of the World’s most important wine regions to showcase at Vinum55. For every region featured, we will offer a special tasting event, and an educational seminar focused on the grapes, geography, history, culture, and wine making techniques of that region. Our intent is to provide members with opportunities to learn more about known, and lesser-known, wine regions and producers across the world. Of course, there will also be opportunities to order your favorite wines from the tastings. Our last event, which focused on the Alsace region on the border of France and Germany, was a huge success thanks to all of the amazing people who attended. Now we invite you to join us for our sixth event on Friday, June 30th, 2017. The focus will be on Beaujolais–a French wine region that is technically part of Burgundy, but only for administrative purposes. Aside from proximity (Beaujolais is just south of Burgundy), the two regions have close to nothing in common. The climates, soils, and geology are dissimilar; the grapes are not the same, and three are drastically different wine making techniques. 99% of the grapes grown in Beaujolais are gamay noir, but there a very small amount of Chardonnay (which we will also taste). There is so much to learn about this very distinct wine region, so we highly recommend that you do not miss this! The event is free for members, and $35 for non-members. However, if a non-member joins Vinum55 that night, the $35 will be refunded.
